The Philippine Council of Cheshire Homes for the Disabled (PhilCOCHED) is a national disability and development organisation operating in Cubao, Quezon City. It is a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental organisation that promotes and protects the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities in the Philippines towards the attainment of economic independence and their active participation in social, cultural, political and civil life. PhilCOCHED has over 40 years experience working with and for and advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities and is dedicated to the responsive and appropriate partnership of persons with disabilities.

PhilCOCHED’s core goals are to ensure that persons with disabilities are able to exercise their full potential and become valuable contributors within society. The core activities undertaken in order to achieve these aims are 1) Inclusive Education; 2) Economic Empowerment; 3) Support for Everyday Living; 4) Advocacy and Campaigns and projects including Young Voices, the Inclusive Youth Centre, ICARE and the Cheshire International Internship Program (CHIIPS). Activities are supported through the partnership and collaboration with 35 affiliated homes and services in the country (14 of which are Cheshire Homes) as well as other community based partners. PhilCOCHED is a member of The Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance of 250 disability and development organisations operating in more than 50 countries.
